We all know Sailor Moon- wither as a passing fancy from your childhood, waking up at 6am every Saturday to watch it, or it's your current obsession. We've seen her drawn and redrawn throughout the ages, cosplayers (both women AND men) dress like her, doodle her on little scraps of paper, and make fun of the famous catch phrase, "In the Name of the Moon, I will punish you!". Most of even know the words to her classic theme song "Fighting evil by Moonlight!" She's a part of our culture.

And now, a month and a half after the first announcement was made, the winners can be announced…

Alright- onto main awards
I couldn’t help myself, there were too many votes for good things. Therefore I also awarded a fourth and fifth place. Even though there were MANY beautiful designs, there were a few that kept surfacing as the best designed and most true to the spirit of the contest. In the Spirit of Love and Justice, please be kind about the finals. You may have received a high honor yourself- just not awarded here. Therefore I take this time to announce and encourage you all to participate in Next Years Great Sailor Moon Redesign Contest!! Yes! Vbabe1 has decided to do this at least once more next year about the same time. You may want to post your entries now and submit them when the contest comes ‘round next year! Get those ideas cooking, and never give up! We’ll have a whole new set of rules, judges, and criteria so don’t lose hope!


If you would like to assist in next years contest (Yes, you will still be able to compete if you offer to help,) please send a note to ~vbabe1 You could be an organizer, a prize request, donate funds for a new costume, offer sewing assistance, subscription offers, feature offers, assistant judge, photography service, advertiser, or anything else you can think of.- Let’s make next years even bigger and better than the last! But we can’t do it without your help. Don’t be shy! Ask her!


Before we officially close the First Annual SMRC- lets all give a big ‘ol glomp to our contest mistress-

She spent a lot of time organizing rules, writing notes, finalizing judges, submitting entries, answering questions, gathering request prizes, and much more. So send a little love and encouragement her way to keep supporting the Sailor Moon AND art community.
