LOL. I made a mistake! I really meant to say you can still submit things all throughout Halloween day. Since I confused many I should probably stick to what was written down. But I'm also getting masses and hordes of Messages and notes asking for an extension. So here’s what I'll do as a compromise: I will accept submissions up until the final Deviation/News announcement has been posted. I have so many submissions, I'm going to put them all in a favs box, upload them as news and as a personal deviation and then have everyone vote (for a people's choice award). Until that's all done, I can keep getting submissions. I WILL NOT be posting them in this journal.

Be WARNED- It won't take me more than a few days (Monday?) so don't take this as a pass to take your sweet time!!! HURRY!

That's right! It's the start of the Great Sailor Moon Redesign contest.

We all know Sailor Moon- wither as a passing fancy from your childhood, waking up at 6am every Saturday to watch it, or it's your current obsession. We've seen her drawn and redrawn throughout the ages, cosplayers (both women AND men) dress like her, doodle her on little scraps of paper, and make fun of the famous catch phrase, "In the Name of the Moon, I will punish you!". Most of even know the words to her classic theme song "Fighting evil by Moonlight!" She's a part of our culture. Now it's time to see her reborn in your own words.




Rules:

- You may use any existing senshi for a base including Tuxedo Mask and any from the Manga, live action, video game, or musical.

- Make sure we can still recognize her at a glance- Red color to represent Mars, short blue hair for Mercury ect. You may change as much as you like but be warned that the judging will partially based on the fact that we know who it is. It should be the new Sailor Scout, not a crossover.

- Use an inspiration! It would be great fun to see a Gothic-Lolita Sailor Venus or a Video-game style Neptune, an ancient Greek Pluto? Try out lots of things.

- You may submit more than one deviation, in fact it's highly encouraged! If you intend to do a series, submit them separately because there can only be one ultimate winner for the Grand Prize.

- If you already have a design on file here, you MAY submit it as an entry. (Including those used as examples below.)

- Due to the nature of the Grand prize, please be careful of your choices- no R-rated stuff, nothing that need a mature rating. If someone will be wearing this, we want to make sure it follows general cosplay rules and will be allowed onto most Expo showrooms.

- Also on that note, please DON'T WORRY about how possible the costume will be to create in real life! Many things can be fake, don't let it hinder your ability to create freely.

- The Final Day to submit a deviation is OCTOBER 30- HALLOWEEN. 12am (Midnight)

You may either submit them in a link in a comment below or (preferred) send a link in a note to ~vbabe1 she will be conducting this contest as well as being a main judge and the grand prize model. If you have any other questions or would like to be considered a judge, please send her a note!

- If you haven't guessed or heard of it already, it is the creation of your costume! The final piece will be sewn to your specifications and debuted at at least the Anime Expo 2009, and a likelihood of many more shows. Thus the need for it to be recognized- we want everyone to see the intention clearly.
